On June 28, 2018, I released the pop/CCM single ‘To Be Near You’, which I wrote together with English lyricist Christine Sanderson. The song won several prizes, got considerable press coverage and currently has over 100,000 streams across all platforms.
I wrote To Be Near You back in 2015, mainly based on tough times I went through. After the release of the song I received dozens of messages of people who found strength in the music and the lyrics, which was exactly my purpose when I released the single.
The single is about that no matter what you’re going through, there is always someone who you can go to – in this context that someone is God, but we tried to keep the lyrics as open as possible.
